Complete construction and renovation of the new National Library of Lebanon. Funding donated by the State of Qatar.
Phase one of the project (2012-2014) included the rehabilitation of the 5,227 square meters of the old building, concrete construction of 4 new basements (3000 m2/floor) and finishing works of Basement 1 to serve as parking space and Basement 4 to serve as storage space, steel and curtain glass works, electromechanical, fire, security and IT systems of the finished areas. In collaboration with the Ministry of Archeology, the renovation was done to conserve the original sandstone structure of the original building from 1907.
Phase two of the project (2017) saw the renovation of the ground floor (left wing) and the finishing works basements 2 & 3 of the new building to serve as storage area for books, the finishing works of the of the old building (left wing), electromechanical, fire, security and IT systems, and landscape area at ground floor level, and finally, the installation of furniture.
